Boric acid has long been a treatment for vaginal yeast infections, especially those that are recurrent. Recurrent infections often may be due to a non-candida species yeast and seem to respond well to the boric acid. Pharmaceutical companies never took up the commerical manufacture of boric acid vaginal suppositories because they could not patent it. For many years, physicians had pharmacists make up boric acid suppositories but in recent years most pharmacists have given up compounding of medicines, so they are difficult to find. Fortunately we have found a source of these vaginal suppositories premade by Vitanica and formulated by Dr. Tori Hudson, a naturopathic physician.

Ingredients
Each suppository capsule includes: Boric Acid 600 mg, Oregon grape root (berberis aquifolium) 150 mg, Calendula flowers (calendula officinalis) 50 mg, vegetable cellulose and water.

Caution
These suppositories are NOT for oral ingestion. They are for vaginal insertion.

Suggested use
Acute - One suppository twice a day for 7 days. When used during the day, a panty liner is suggested.

Chronic - One suppository twice a day for two weeks and then once a day during menses, usually in the evening before bed, for an additional four months.
